Countdown to demolition: Weather Service says Sunday’s forecast looking ‘much more muddled’


The National Weather Service says Sunday’s forecast is looking “much more muddled” in this area thanks to a “progressive trough” developing over the Central Plains. A trough is the opposite of a ridge in weather parlance. It is found near low pressure areas and can bring in cloudy conditions and precipitation, along with a cooler air mass. A ridge, on the other hand, is found near areas of high pressure.
