Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, July 11, 2020:

Overnight rain associated with the remains of Tropical Storm Fay are now to the northeast of our region, but a new system will keep our weather unsettled today.

The morning hours will be quiet with clouds and some breaks of sun. The atmosphere will be muggy in the wake of Fay and temperatures should rise quickly with a light southwest wind.

By the mid afternoon, temperatures will reach the low 80s and scattered showers and storms will start to fire up.

The best chance for rain will come in the early evening, as storms that originated to our west and have had time to organize move through.

There is a small chance for some gusty winds or minor flooding, but major severe weather and significant flooding issues are not expected.

Fog will develop in some areas this evening in the wake of the rain. Temperatures will slowly back into the upper 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Sunday: A few scattered showers. Morning lows in the upper 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Monday: Afternoon rain and some thunderstorms. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy. Possibly a brief afternoon storm. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Wednesday: Plenty of sunshine. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
