On the heels of Friday’s system, yet another one is moving in and this is going to bring the shot at more winter weather tonight.
The best chance for some accumulating snowfall will lay across the Kansas-Nebraska state-line where 1-2″ could be seen, especially out across the northeast part of the state. The farther south you travel the better chance for seeing just some freezing drizzle, potentially mixing with a little snow and sleet later on tonight.
This is what we’ll be seeing throughout the Wichita Metro. All of this moisture should be out of here by Sunday morning as some drier air begin to take back over. As a result, more sunshine will peek out from behind the clouds tomorrow.
Don’t get too used to that sunshine because it won’t be around long as more wintry weather begins to head our way. A low pressure center will eject itself up toward the viewing area and this will give us the best chance of snow this season in Wichita along with the whole state seeing the chance for light to moderate snow accumulation.
This is something we’ll be watching very closely throughout the next few days. By Wednesday morning, this storm will be moving out of here and we should see some decreasing cloud cover through the day. Friday brings some warmer conditions out ahead of cold front that could bring some rain showers to the Sunflower State with a few snowflakes mixing in out across our NW communities. As temperatures crash behind it, the potential lingers for some rain and snow showers by next Saturday as well. Temperature wise, we stay well below average through the middle of next week with highs in the 20s and 30s with nice rebound by the end of the week.
