Some Alabama school systems have begun announcing precautionary measures ahead of Monday evening’s expected severe weather.
NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has added an enhanced risk of severe storms for west Alabama and expanded a slight risk to cover more of the state.
An enhanced risk means numerous severe storms will be possible. The enhanced risk area includes part of west-central and southwest Alabama but not north Alabama.
Madison County Schools: After school activities, including after-school care, cancelled.
Huntsville City Schools: After school and evening activities, including extended day, cancelled.
Tuscaloosa City Schools: All after school activities cancelled.
Tuscaloosa County Schools: All after school activities cancelled.
Madison City Schools: All after school activities cancelled.
Madison Academy: After school activities cancelled.
Westminster Christian Academy: All after school activities cancelled.
Limestone County Schools: After school activities cancelled.
St. John Paul II Catholic High School: After school activities cancelled.
The Country Day School: Dismissing at 2:30 p.m., after school activities cancelled.
St. Clair County Schools: All Monday activities must be concluded by 5 p.m. and no activities will be allowed after that time.
Demopolis City Schools: All after school activities and extended day programs are cancelled.
