ROANOKE, VA (WDBJ7) TONIGHT: The sticky, soggy pattern has returned this week. Showers continue to develop this afternoon and will linger through the evening. The best coverage will be across the Piedmont, Highlands and New River Valley. through the evening.
Downpours and flash flooding are the main concerns this evening with a few storms turning severe.
Storms will gradually decrease in coverage through the night with lows in the mid 60s.
A front will linger allowing for more active weather again Tuesday. Showers and storms will develop during the afternoon and continue into the evening.
Some storms may produce heavy downpours leading to localized flash flooding. The flooding threat continues given recent rain, but shouldn’t be widespread.
Temperatures will warm into the upper 70s to low 80s Tuesday.
WEDNESDAY – THURSDAY – FRIDAY
By mid-week, a drier period of weather will begin by Wednesday and carry through the end of the work week. We’ll see a good bit of sunshine on Thursday and Friday as highs hold in the low to mid 80s.
MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND
An early look at the Memorial Day Weekend shows signs of a wet pattern setting up with more tropical rain likely. While it may not be a washout, daily storm chances are possible.
