TYLER, Texas (KETK) – Fair season is here, and if you love roller coasters then you will like the intense weather changes coming in the next few days. After two nice Fall days, the weather quickly turning gloomy and wet. Next week, we’re back to the cold, but it gets A LOT COLDER compared to the most recent cold front.
THE WEATHER SET UP
Here’s what is happening. Two systems coming our way to bring in rain chances and the clouds. The first feature is a disturbance with a cold front in the Four Corners region. This will help increase rain chances by the afternoon on Friday.
Then, the remains from Tropical Storm Sergio will be moving into Texas and combined with that same cold front will increase rain chances and bring dropping temperatures Saturday into Sunday. The rain chances will continue into most of next week.
Clouds rolling in by Friday morning. A dreary day on Friday with showers mostly north of US HWY 79 on Friday afternoon. Some showers could still linger into Friday Football Fever, but I do not see lightning as a concern. Temperatures Friday will struggle to get to the lower 70s for most of East Texas.
Saturday is a bit tricky during the day. Look for a mixture of clouds and sunshine at times. Breezy and warmer as Gulf moisture increases. Rain chances are at a 40% probability during the day, but by Saturday night into Sunday the chances increase as the cold front moves through.
On Sunday, the cold front is moving through East Texas and we’re definitely in the colder air. Temperatures Sunday afternoon quite possibly could only be in the lower to middle 60s across the majority of the area. Also, another upper disturbance moving across will keep rain showers possible through the day.
MONDAY & TUESDAY
Additional waves of energy keep the showers going…and temperatures are EVEN COLDER! We could spend a day in the 40s for HIGHS on Tuesday. That’s not a Fall forecast, almost like a Winter time forecast!!
Be sure to see our latest forecasts on KETK & FOX51 as this is a wild roller coaster weather period for us.
